There are no roads leading here, no traffic, and no rush. People arrive on foot along the Abel Tasman Coastal Track, by water taxi across the sparkling coastline, or by scenic flight overhead. Sixty years in the care of one family
For more than sixty years this property has been lovingly cared for by the Crawford family. What began as a cherished family retreat has welcomed generations of family, friends and travellers, all drawn by the unique combination of wilderness, hospitality and the simple pleasure of spending time in one of New Zealand's most extraordinary places.
Throughout the decades the philosophy has remained unchanged: to share this beautiful corner of the world while preserving the peace, authenticity and sense of connection that make it so special.

Our accommodation has been thoughtfully designed to sit gently within its surroundings. Comfortable glamping tents, simple modern facilities and shared spaces allow guests to experience nature without sacrificing comfort.
At the heart of the property is our communal gathering space, where sweeping panoramic views stretch across the ever-changing waters of Awaroa Bay. Whether you're enjoying your morning coffee as the sun rises over the inlet, sharing stories over a hamburger after a day exploring the National Park, or simply watching the tide transform the landscape below, it is a place that naturally encourages you to slow down, relax and soak in the remarkable beauty of this corner of New Zealand.

Having spent more than twenty-five years introducing visitors from around the world to the Abel Tasman through our family of tourism and hospitality businesses, we have developed a deep respect for this remarkable national park and the experiences that make it unforgettable.

What is the cancellation policy?
If a booking is cancelled more than 7 days before arrival: 80% refund. Less than 7 days but more than 48 hours: 50% refund. Less than 48 hours: no refund.

Is there food available?
Breakfast and a hamburger dinner are $50pp, with pre-packed lunches at $30pp — or bring your own food to cook.
All meals need to be pre-ordered 72 hours before arrival, and dietary requirements can be catered for with prior knowledge.
Are there hot showers?
Yes, we have hot showers.
Is linen supplied?
Bedding and towels are supplied. Please note you will need your own towel to go to the beach.
How can I travel to Awaroa Glamping?
As there are no roads, you need to arrive by foot, water taxi or plane. See all the ways to get here.
Is there WiFi internet?
Yes — WiFi is available and free to use. Cell reception in the bay is patchy, so don't count on mobile data. We think that's part of the charm.
